About these terms

Raabta is run by Crct, Platforms (“we”, “us”, “our”). These terms apply to our website at raabta.us and to our app, which together we call “the club”.

By applying for membership, creating an account, tapping “I agree” or using the club, you confirm that you have read these terms and our Privacy Policy and agree to be bound by them. They form a legal agreement between you and us. If you do not agree, please do not apply or use the club.

Some parts of the club may come with their own terms. We will show you those before you join or use that part. Where they differ from these terms, the specific terms apply to that part.

Eligibility and applying

• You must be 18 or older to apply.
• The information in your application must be true, and it must be about you.
• The club is application-only. Every application is reviewed, with regard to things such as professional background, character and fit with the community’s standards.
• Acceptance is at our sole discretion. We may decline an application and are not obliged to give a reason.
• While your application is reviewed you are on the waitlist. A place on the waitlist is not a promise of membership, and a review can take weeks or months.

Your account and verification

• Every member is verified. If we cannot verify you, we may decline your application or close your account.
• Membership is personal to you. It cannot be transferred, assigned, shared or sold, and no one else may use your account.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used it.
• Keep your profile accurate and up to date.

Referral codes

Members and event organizers may receive a limited number of referral codes to share with people they know. Codes may not be sold, traded or posted publicly. A code supports an application; it does not guarantee membership.

Community rules

The club is for friendship, professional connection and community. It is not a dating app. When you use it, you agree to:

• treat every member with respect
• respect other members’ privacy settings, including settings that limit who may message them
• keep what is shared in the club inside the club: do not copy, record or pass on other members’ posts, photos, messages or details, and do not try to get around the app’s screenshot blocking

You must not post, send or promote anything that is:

• illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing or defamatory
• vulgar, obscene or sexually explicit
• an invasion of someone else’s privacy
• hateful or discriminatory, or that promotes violence, on grounds such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or age
• false, misleading or deceptive
• in breach of anyone’s rights, including intellectual property rights

You must not:

• use the club to seek romantic or sexual contact
• pretend to be someone else, or misstate who you are or what you do
• send spam, run scams, or pressure members to buy or invest
• break the law, or help someone else to

We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. A serious breach can lead to immediate removal from the club, and where the law has been broken we may report it to the authorities.

Your content

What you post, send or list in the club stays yours, and you alone are responsible for it. Only share content you have the right to share, and do not share other people’s personal information without their agreement.

You give us permission to store your content and show it to other members as the club is designed to, for as long as it is in the club. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account, apart from copies we must keep for the reasons explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may monitor, review and remove content at our discretion to keep the community safe and these terms respected. We are not obliged to review everything that is posted.

Using the app

While you are a member, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app. We can withdraw it, and it ends automatically if you break these terms or your membership ends. When it ends you must stop using the app and remove it from your devices.

You must not:

• scrape, harvest or bulk-collect members’ information or any other data from the club
• use automated tools, bots or scripts to access the club
• try to access accounts, areas or systems you are not authorized to use
• copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell any part of the app
• interfere with the club’s systems or security

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store’s own terms also apply to your use of it. The store is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content.

Child safety. The club is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Minors may not create an account, use the app or view its content. We check that applicants are adults as part of verification, and we moderate content and act on reports to prevent the exploitation or abuse of children.

Clubs and events

• Our events are for members. A place may need an approved RSVP and, where it applies, payment.
• Places and tickets are personal. They may not be transferred or resold without our written agreement.
• We may refuse entry to any member or guest at our discretion.
• Event details can change, and events can be postponed or cancelled. We will tell you if an event you signed up for changes.
• You and your guests attend events at your own risk. Except where we have been grossly negligent or have deliberately done wrong, we are not responsible for accidents, injuries or disputes at events.
• Clubs inside the app are run by members. Organizers are responsible for their own clubs and the events they host, and must follow these terms.

Member-led gatherings

Members are welcome to meet up. So that nobody mistakes a member’s gathering for one of ours:

• Official events are only those we announce through our own channels: our website, our email, and the app.
• Branding. Do not present a gathering as a Raabta event, or use our name in its title (for example “Raabta x …”). You may say it is “for members of Raabta”.
• Say what it is. Invitations should make clear that you are a member organizing a gathering for other members, and that it is not an official event.
• Ask first for anything with a sponsor, a venue partnership, or [Number TBD] or more members. Casual meetups, such as a game or a coffee, do not need approval.
• Paid gatherings. Anything that sells tickets or collects an entry fee needs our approval in advance. Splitting a bill or a court fee between friends does not.
• Dates. Gatherings should not clash with our official calendar. We may decline a request that does.

Unapproved gatherings that are branded as ours, or that could be confused with our events, may lead to suspension or removal.

Groups outside the club and member information

Unless we have agreed in writing, you must not:

• create, run or promote a group of the club’s members on another platform (for example a messaging group) that is presented as ours or built from our membership
• recruit or solicit members for another community, organization, business or event that we have not approved
• use members’ names, contact details or any other information you obtained through the club for personal, commercial or competing purposes

Groups that carry our name on other platforms belong to us. These obligations apply to former members as well as current ones. Breaking them is a serious breach of these terms: we may end your membership at once and take legal action, including asking a court to stop the conduct and claiming the losses it caused.

Business directory

Listings in the business directory are provided by members. We do not check, endorse or guarantee any business, product or service listed. Any dealings you have with a listed business are between you and that business.

If you list a business, the listing must be accurate and the business must be yours.

Muslims Entrepreneurs’ Club

The Muslims Entrepreneurs’ Club (MEC) is the business circle inside the app. It has its own application. All membership details are shared during that application, and any terms that are specific to MEC apply in addition to these.

Fees and payments

Where a membership, feature or event has a fee, the amount and how it is billed are shown to you before you pay.

• Fees are non-refundable once paid, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
• If a fee is not paid, we may suspend or end the membership it relates to.
• We may change fees. We will tell you beforehand, and the change applies from your next billing period. Introductory or promotional rates are for a limited time.

Subscriptions bought through an app store

• The plan, its length and its price are shown in the app before you confirm. Payment is taken by the app store through your store account.
• A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The store charges the renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends.
• You manage or cancel a subscription in your store account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.

Messages from us

We will contact you by email and in the app about your application, your membership and events.

If you give us a mobile number and agree, we may also send text messages about your membership, such as invitations, reminders, confirmations and updates, and occasionally promotions. How often varies. Your carrier’s message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or write to hello@raabta.us. Agreeing to text messages is not a condition of membership.

Reports, suspension and removal

• You can report a member, a message or a post from anywhere in the app.
• We review reports and may warn a member, remove content, or limit, suspend or end a membership.
• Membership is at our discretion. We may suspend or end it, with or without notice, if we believe these terms have been broken, that someone’s safety is at risk, or that it is otherwise in the interests of the community.
• A decision to remove a member is made by a person, and you can appeal it by writing to hello@raabta.us.
• You can end your membership and close your account at any time.

Our name, brand and software

Raabta’s name, logos, design, text and software belong to us or to those who license them to us. You may not copy, resell or build on any part of the club without our written permission.

You may not use our name, brand or likeness for personal or commercial purposes without our written consent. That includes on social media and in other communities.

What we do not promise

We work to keep the club safe, available and useful, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, that you will make particular connections, or that content in the club is accurate, complete or useful. We verify members, but we do not vouch for any member’s conduct, on the app or in person.

Our responsibility to you

To the extent the law allows:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, for loss of profit, business or data, or for the actions of other members, organizers or listed businesses
• our total liability to you is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose
• any claim must be brought by you individually, and not as part of a class, collective or representative action

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Your responsibility to us

If someone brings a claim against us because of your conduct, your content or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the losses and costs that result, including reasonable legal fees. This applies to claims against Crct, Platforms and its affiliates, officers, employees and agents.

Changes and what continues

We may change, add or remove features of the club. If we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell members by email or in the app. If you keep using the club after that, you accept the new terms.

Some obligations continue after your membership ends, however it ends. These include the sections on member information and groups outside the club, our name and brand, limits on our liability, your responsibility to us, and governing law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State or country TBD], without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. If we cannot settle a dispute between us informally, it will be decided by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

If a court finds part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not act on a breach straight away, we can still act on it later.
